Bertrand Guyon, who had trained at Valentino couture, took over Schiaparelli in 2014 and spent five seasons building a coherent language for the revived house — baroque ornamentation, trompe-l'oeil embroidery, and a deliberate engagement with Elsa's archive. His work was technically accomplished but struggled to generate the cultural heat the house's history demanded.
