Yoshiyuki Miyamae joined the Miyake organisation after studies at Central Saint Martins and took over the main women's RTW line in 2011, simultaneously overseeing the Homme Plissé line at its launch in 2012. His work deepened the house's investigation of pleating and three-dimensional structure, often presenting collections as choreographed performance pieces. He stepped down in 2023.
