Walter Van Beirendonck

Walter Van Beirendonck is the most flamboyantly subversive member of the Antwerp Six, the cohort of Belgian designers who transformed fashion's cultural geography in the 1980s. His menswear collections are dense, satirical, and politically charged — filled with tribal motifs, fur, toys, and confrontational sloganeering that critique masculinity, consumerism, and global politics. A long-serving professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Van Beirendonck has trained generations of the avant-garde.
